⭐️⭐️UPDATE on WINSTON⭐️⭐️ Jan 11 @ 9pm You all knew the sappy post was coming 😉 💛 🫶🏻 Grateful is an understatement for all the support, sharing, walking, driving, and sending of prayers/manifestations/positive vibes. Winston was most definitely protected while ‘exploring’ Lawrence 😏 He made his way to HyVee. 😳 An older gentleman found him by Hyvee (Kasold + Clinton Parkway). If you live here, you know how dangerous that intersection is, not to mention the multiple roads he crossed to get there 😭 He was dropped off at the Humane Society. To get this call was an out of body experience… I don’t think we have the language to articulate this feeling, but I’m sure we all know the feeling in some way. We have lived in Lawrence for five years and the friendships+connections we have made here truly make this place our home. We are forever indebted to the Lawrence community! Whatever you need, call us! We will be there in a heartbeat 💛 Winston is in good health with no visible injuries. He was in good spirits when we saw him. And once he smelled us, his tail was wagging, and he was smiling, ready to go home. Of course, I was a wreck! The staff at the Humane Society said we had the strongest campaign for a lost dog they have ever seen. 😏 Thanks to you all, he will not be in the snowy/rainy weather tonight. And his mamas can get some sleep! 🥱😵💫🫠 ••When we got home Winston immediately looked for his sister, Baby Ruthie, ate some food and treats, and is now all tuckered out under the heating blanket•• I hope he had the time of his life out there exploring; I’m thankful he can’t talk and tell me all about it! 🤣 Corretta Scott King said it best, ‘The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.’ 🥹 I am working through all the messages 🙏 crying happy tears! Baby is snuggling with mama; Jayci and Winston are both snoring 💤 and something that once annoyed me, them snoring in harmony with each other, is now music to my ears. 😉😘 We love you all ❤️💙 Xoxo, Laura + Jayci
