Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

Throughout my unfortunate ordeal with this company I talked to Avery, who introduced herself as a medical director. She is a difficult woman to talk to. She sounds bothered and rather annoyed. Perhaps she needs to extend her kind attitude to humans not just cats.

People who run this company need to do a lot of soul searching. Their communication skills, trustworthiness, respect for human clients have room for improvement. Whoever adopts from this company, please check every test and every statement about the cat's condition. Better even, redo all the tests. I want it to be an easier experience for you than it was for me.

The kitten I've adopted was in dyer medical condition; had 3 untreated infections, a surgical emergency and covered with flees. He had been in care of Stray Cat Alliance for almost 3 months before I adopted him. The poor guy was grossly neglected.

After I have signed the adoption papers, brought the kitten home and discovered medical problems, the folks from Stray Cat Alliance stopped being available. They didn't return calls, e-mails, or texts. They ignored the message about the med condition of the kitten from the vet they themselves recommended and worked with. People I dealt with were Tammy and Avery. I hope others have better luck, but I found them lacking honesty and trustworthiness.

Adopted a kitten in December 2018 from the foster home under care of Stray Cat Alliance. The kitten was covered with flees, had 3 separate infections (eye infection, ear infection and acute calici virus) and had to have a surgery for an inflammatory polyp in his ear. The kitten couldn't have been more neglected if I found him on the street.
