Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Wildthunder W.A.R.S. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is state and federally licensed in animal welfare and rescue. Tracy Belle, Founder and Director of Wildthunder is a Master Class Wildlife Rehabiltator that is State & Federally licensed for wildlife, reptiles, bats and raptors. We are also licensed in Iowa as an animal rescue. We specialize in injured and medically compromised animals.
At Wildthunder W.A.R.S., we work with multiple species of injured and orphaned wildlife; these animals include reptiles, bats, raptors, and mammals as well as exotic animals. We do this voluntarily, out of pocket and on donations.
