Sabine Stull the Director of Animal Ark Rescue is the smartest, most compassionate person I have ever met. She took me under her wing and mentored me. She has shared her thoughts and knowledge with many of the volunteers. She inspires all around her. She is truly amazing and always has the best interest of the animals in mind.

Where Animal Ark Rescue is all stray animals must go to Animal Control. When someone calls we check to see if we have their pet. Our community also has a couple of facebook pages that very effectively monitor lost and found animals. We have had a few occasions of being able to reunite owner and pet. It is always a joyful day.

Volunteers at Animal Ark Rescue are the most dedicated group I have ever seen. They would do anything for the Ark. With the wide variety of talent that volunteers poses this is one group of volunteers that could do anything they set their mind to.

Animal Ark Rescue is loved by the community. Most hear of us from word of mouth or from Facebook. Animal Ark is occasionaly on the news as well. When animals turn up in the news, usually in a bad situation, the news will do a follow up with us to see how the animal is doing. There are also a few companies in the community that let us share their spotlight at events.

Animal Ark has a very efficient intake which is where vaxing a quarantine takes place. Cleaning is a top priority at Animal Ark and preventing cross contamination is always in the front of everyone's mind. Animal Ark also has programs in place for socialization, ringworm, parvo, sick & injured, mothers and babies...

Animal Ark Rescue is very good at trying to keep animals in their home. Sometimes the solution is simple sometimes it is a little more complicated. We are there to get these animals into good homes. If they already have a good home it's our duty to try to figure out a way for that animal to stay in their home.

I can not say enough about Animal Ark Rescues Foster Program. They have an amazing foster program and they save amazing animals. Animals most would probably give up on. Until we have someone step up to foster The director or one of the volunteers will steps in and takes the foster home with them until a full time foster can be found.

Animal Ark Rescue is a Rescue Group. The Majority of their animals are pulled from the kill list at the local animal control. On a few occasions when another rescue could better meet the needs of an animal we will transfer the animal. Animal Ark Rescue has also joined a coalition with other rescues in the community to be able to do even more for the Animals.

Animal Ark Rescue is on board with TNR. They have a feral cat colony on the proprty at their rescue. They also take in Pregnant ferals and care for them in a until the mother has had her babies and the kittens are old enough that the mother can be returned to her colony. At that point the mother is vetted and released. The kittens, since still young are put through a socialization process so they can go to adoptive homes.

Don’t call the number on this website, it’s a scam number. They’ll ask for your address and ask for a card for verification. The number isn’t even the same number when you look up Animal Ark Rescue. And I’m pretty sure they are permanent closed, Apple map shows that but not google.

My cat is missing. It's been 10 days. I have looked for her everyday! Her name is Kittybird. She's a female, 1 yr old. She is brown, black and gold striped with white on her face, chest and stomach. She is wearing a pink collar. She has been spayed and has a chip. If anyone has seen her, please contact me at 706-590-6026. My heart is broken! Thank you!

This is a very urgent situation. My daughter and I took in a cat from our neighbor who was moving and could not take their cat with them. They left their cat with us this last Friday evening. Saturday my daughter developed sniffles and on Sunday, which was yesterday, she woke up with her face swollen and eyes all puffy. Since this is the first time we took in a cat we had no idea she had allergies for a cat! If it was not for this we would have kept him as he is such a good cat and well trained too. Would it be possible for you all to take him for fostering and then later see that he is adopted to a good home? I live in Alpharetta and can drop off the cat at any of your locations. My daughter and I are both so upset about this situation and would really appreciate it if you all can help us as soon as possible. I have put my daughter on strong allergy medication but unfortunately, I need this poor sweet cat to get adopted soon else my daughter will get sicker!! Please contact me @ [email protected]

1. Feral Cat TNR Program

Many communities are embracing Trap, Neuter, Release programs (TNR) to improve animal welfare, reduce death rates, and meet obligations to public welfare.

2. High-Volume, Low-Cost Spay/Neuter

Low cost, high volume spay/neuter will quickly lead to fewer animals entering the shelter system, allowing more resources to be allocated toward saving lives.

3. Rescue Groups

An adoption or transfer to a rescue group frees up scarce cage and kennel space, reduces expenses for feeding, cleaning, killing, and improves a community's rate of lifesaving. In an environment of millions of dogs and cats killed in shelters annually, rare is the circumstance in which a rescue group should be denied an animal.

4. Foster Care

Volunteer foster care is crucial to No Kill. Without it, saving lives is compromised. It is a low cost, and often no cost, way of increasing a shelter's capacity, improving public relations, increasing a shelter's public image, rehabilitating sick and injured or behaviorally challenged animals, and saving lives.

5. Comprehensive Adoption Programs

Adoptions are vital to an agency's lifesaving mission. The quantity and quality of shelter adoptions is in shelter management's hands, making lifesaving a direct function of shelter policies and practice. In fact, studies show people get their animals from shelters only 20% of the time. If shelters better promoted their animals and had adoption programs responsive to the needs of the community, including public access hours for working people, offsite adoptions, adoption incentives, and effective marketing, they could increase the number of homes available and replace killing with adoptions. Contrary to conventional wisdom, shelters can adopt their way out of killing.

6. Pet Retention

While some of the reasons animals are surrendered to shelters are unavoidable, others can be prevented-but only if shelters are willing to work with people to help them solve their problems. Saving animals requires communities to develop innovative strategies for keeping people and their companion animals together. And the more a community sees its shelters as a place to turn for advice and assistance, the easier this job will be.

7. Medical and Behavior Programs

In order to meet its commitment to a lifesaving guarantee for all savable animals, shelters need to keep animals happy and healthy and keep animals moving through the system. To do this, shelters must put in place comprehensive vaccination, handling, cleaning, socialization, and care policies before animals get sick and rehabilitative efforts for those who come in sick, injured, unweaned, or traumatized.

8. Public Relations/Community Involvement

Increasing adoptions, maximizing donations, recruiting volunteers and partnering with community agencies comes down to one thing: increasing the shelter's exposure. And that means consistent marketing and public relations. Public relations and marketing are the foundation of all a shelter's activities and their success. To do all these things well, the shelter must be in the public eye.

9. Volunteers

Volunteers are a dedicated "army of compassion" and the backbone of a successful No Kill effort. There is never enough staff, never enough dollars to hire more staff, and always more needs than paid human resources. That is where volunteers come in and make the difference between success and failure and, for the animals, life and death.

10. Proactive Redemptions

One of the most overlooked areas for reducing killing in animal control shelters are lost animal reclaims. Sadly, besides having pet owners fill out a lost pet report, very little effort is made in this area of shelter operations. This is unfortunate because doing so-primarily shifting from passive to a more proactive approach-has proven to have a significant impact on lifesaving and allow shelters to return a large percentage of lost animals to their families.

11. A Compassionate Director

The final element of the No Kill equation is the most important of all, without which all other elements are thwarted-a hard working, compassionate animal control or shelter director not content to regurgitate tired cliches or hide behind the myth of "too many animals, not enough homes." Unfortunately, this one is also oftentimes the hardest one to demand and find.
