Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Georgia
(report broken link)
The Amal Animal Rescue Foundation is a no-kill animal shelter started in 2011. It is run by Shirley Badawi and Lori Hill, with the help of faithful volunteers and wonderful people like you. We provide a home to cats and small dogs in Floyd County, GA and hold adoption events in Atlanta. Floyd County has a has one of the highest kill rates in their shelters of all the counties in Georgia. We believe that no animal should be killed simply because they were left behind or unwanted. Instead, all of the animals we adopt out have either been fixed or the owner has signed a contract agreeing to spay/neuter their new family member when they are old enough. All of our adoptable animals have up-to-date vaccinations and have been micro-chipped to ensure that they can always be returned to their owners. To ensure that one of our own never ends up in a kill shelter again, we even take back animals whose owners cant take care of them anymore, although we stress that adopting a pet is a permanent decision. How we do this on a threadbare budget? Well, we work a little magic to make things come together, and we are extremely thankful for any help and donations that come our way.
