Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

I live in Sun City and I have three feral cats that come to the property. I have been trying to care for them by giving them fresh water and kibble. Two of them seem to be in rough shape and those are the males. The female has been coming here for over a year and is pretty much in a constant state of pregnancy. I have tried so many organizations to help me with these three innocent cats. They are feral. Can you help me?
Hi - the single most important thing for you to do is to trap the cat and have it neutered or spayed, otherwise there will be more on the way and it's a vicious cycle. It looks like there is a TNR section on this website. Good luck to you and thank you for caring about the stray.
There is a young feral cat that is in our back yard. When I give it cat food it hardly eats i need to cut it in small pieces or get cat food that is mushy then it will eat or lick some food the cat comes to my door and wants food but I cannot get near it. I'm afraid it is not getting enough to eat..
