Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Arizona
(report broken link)
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization serving the Verde Valley since 1966. We are dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond.
The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the Humane Society of Sedona is designed to allow every person who desires the love of a pet to be able to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care, while foster pet parents care for the most vulnerable pets outside the Center. As a no-kill shelter, no healthy animal or animal with a treatable behavior or medical condition will ever by euthanized. We do not euthanize because of lack of space or as population control.
HSS programs include providing shelter and care for homeless and abandoned animals, placing adoptable animals into permanent homes, lost pet outreach, administer the City and County Return to Owner impound program, City Spay/Neuter program, City Dog Licensing, Samson Fund for emergency vet care and food bank for low income families, Mobile Adoption Vehicle for offsite adoptions which also serves as an emergency evacuation vehicle and youth education programs such as Kids & Kritters camps.
