About this Dog
Wednesday is a 1 year old (DOB 4/21/23) spayed female that came into rescue last fall with some littermates from a hoarding situation in Florida. She was the most feral of the puppies. Steve and Alex fostered her for months before she was sent to Kelsey for about a month of training. While with Steve and Alex she went to the green market and other local places to socialize and did great even though she wasn’t confident. Kelsey took her herding and she LOVED it. This girl would benefit from an adopter that wanted to take her herding. It’s also a great way to boost her confidence. the adopter before giving her time to bond and settle into her new home sent her away to an board and train where it seems she shut down more than she was before. She will need an adopter that will give her time to bond and settle in before doing any formal training. Wednesday is never going to be the bold and confident dog like some Malinois in new places. She needs to bond with her adopter so she will feel safe with them in new places. She loves other dogs and would probably thrive in a home with a confident and stable playmate that can help her learn the world she lives in is very fun. She will need a secure fenced in yard as if she is pushed she is more of a flight type dog. I think it would take a lot to push her to the point where she would bite. Once she is confident in her environment you can find her playing ball, attacking the water (SHE LOVES WATER) and just being your typical sweet and goofy Mal. She is also fully house and crate trained, none reactive to dogs and people. We are still trying to evaluate what type of training she has from the board and train she was sent to. SHE WILL NOT BE PLACED WITH AN ECOLLAR AND AT THIS TIME THE TRAINER THAT FOSTERED HER ISN’T SURE SHES A DOG THAT WOULD BENEFIT FEOM ONE. We really need to find her a long term foster or adopter as she only in a very temporary situation and can’t stay but a few weeks due to fosters other commitments. If you can open up your home to her please reach out to Kelli Fort-Williamson or Brandy Whiddon
