About this Dog

Buddy is 92 lbs black Labrador, maybe Pit bull terrier mix (when DNA genealogy is ready, I'll update the profile), recently neutered and fully vaccinated - our friends picked him up for us from San Jacinto animal shelter in California. His age was listed by shelter as 4.5 years old but his behavior is that of a puppy, affectionate and curious. Per pit bull rescue staff, he doesn't have much of pit bull in him - I believe shelter just randomly chose age and breed for this dog. Per the trainer, Buddy most likely was used as a bait dog, he has some scars over his face and body, his front teeth are ground to practically nothing, so he cannot bite. He has some injuries to his front leg bones and joints - the broken bones didn’t heal properly and he walks like a drunken sailor. His left ear is injured too. Buddy is fully house trained. Though he is a big dog, he cannot be used for protection - I doubt he’ll be able to protect you from anyone - he likes all humans, jumps up on people to say hello. This is a lovely dog who can be a good companion, a good buddy to enjoy. If you allow him, he’ll be all over you. He likes to jump onto armchairs, the sofa, your bed. We are fostering him now and he wakes me up early in the morning by licking my face, tries to put his huge head on my knees so he’ll be patted, wants to jump into your lap to be held and hugged - unfortunately, he doesn’t realize how huge he is. He is truly a sweet boy, but this is a dog that was physically abused and severely hurt and might not be suitable for a household that has dogs or cats, at least for now. A fully paid package of positive training program will be given to the future owner of Buddy to ensure that the dog and his human enjoy a good life together. We know a very good trainer but will pay for any positive reinforcement trainer that the future owner chooses.

Adopt Buddy and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Buddy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Buddy receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Buddy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Buddy's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buddy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buddy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Buddy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buddy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
