About this Dog
Animal Profile: Desiree is a petite Chihuahua mix who was rescued from the desert in California. She is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs about 8 lbs. Foster Update: Meet Desiree! This sweet girl is excited to find her forever home. We suspect she is a Chihuahua mix (maybe with Jack Russell Terrier?!) but she certainly embodies the personality of a true Chihuahua. Her tail wags with excitement when she meets a fellow canine friend, or when her humans come home and greet her. She is quick to bond and bonds hard when she does. She gets along well with cats, as well as other dogs. We have found that she gets a bit nervous around kiddos, and would do best in an adult-only home. Desiree does well in her crate and enjoys walks around the neighborhood where she can sniff and explore. But if she had to choose one thing to be her favorite activity, it's sunbathing! This girl loves nothing more than to pick a cozy spot where the sun hits her to just lie back and relax. Desiree is used to accompanying her foster to work, and while she is getting better at adapting to new scenarios, she does prefer a slightly more laid-back environment. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
