Green Eyes has recovered beautifully from her traumatic beginning when she was found as an eight-week-old with a gaping wound on her neck. (Advanced infection from bot fly larvae made her pretty ill, and required veterinary intervention and month-long treatment.) Green Eyes loves her foster home with other cats and kittens, and is fond of the cat-friendly dog who lives there as well. Green Eyes is showing some long lasting effects from the deep wound on her neck; her “meow” is a tiny little squeak, as if she is hoarse from a sore throat. as she has recovered, she has some pretty little white hairs that have grown in around the wound area, and that’s really the only way you would even know she has been through some rough times. she is a charmer, playful, active, and very lovable! For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. After we have verified the adoption, Green Eyes: Not at the shelter (Barbe)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Green Eyes: Not at the shelter (Barbe)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Green Eyes: Not at the shelter (Barbe)’s balance will remain in our general fund.
