About this Dog
Please help us rehome our sweet, quirky, loving, four-year-old Boxer/Pit mix. Due to some unfortunate circumstances (happy to share more with anyone seriously considering), we have to rehome her. We are looking for a loving home outside of Harrisonburg for Adzuki. Adzuki needs to be in a home without other pets and would do really well with adults and older children - she likes children but is very excitable and jumps a lot. She is four-year old rescue that was thrown out of a truck on the highway when she was 10 months old, and has made tremendous progress since we adopted her. When she came to us, she was scared of brooms and other objects that she might be hit with. She was also very scared of men and trucks. We are happy to say that she is no longer afraid of any objects like brooms, and has several men in her life that she adores, although she is still afraid of trucks, loud vehicles, and sometimes men outside, particularly if they are wearing a hat. Adzuki has a lot of anxiety but is an extremely sweet and snuggly dog. She gets 'zoomies' for about an hour a day, but for the most part likes spending the rest of her time sleeping. She loves snuggling, prefers to sleep with her humans, and will gently paw at you in order to get under the covers. She enjoys turnips, sweet potatoes, carrots, and peanuts, but she is allergic to chicken and cannot handle a diet that is too high in fat. She has not been socialized with other dogs and gets anxious around them, and does not know how to interact. Adzuki loves chew toys, and once you throw one to her, she will play with it on her own - she definitely needs heavy-duty rubber toys. Currently, Adzuki lives with three children. Our youngest adores her, and they snuggle together often. We would love to get an occasional picture or update from her new adoptive family, but it will be enough to know that she is going to a safe and loving home.

After verifying the adoption, Adzuki's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Adzuki was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Adzuki’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
