About this Dog
Sweet little Birdie is ready to set sail on her life adventures! A maltese or poodle typle mix of sorts, weighing in around 18lbs, she is estimated to be around a year old. She is soft and sweet, loyal and loving- and extra silly too! This darling girl gets along swimmingly with every dog she meets and is great with the cats in her foster home, and enjoys occasionally giving them lots of sweet little licks (the cats may or may not enjoy this- ha!). Birdie can be timid and shy at times, but remains steadfast in her gentle demeanor. She loves her people and is working to build confidence in her handling, still somewhat uncomfortable with being picked up and scares easily with fast or overbearing movements. Likely from a lack of exposure, she is not comfortable around kids or fast moving/acting people and would be best suited for a calm and easy going home environment. She would be very thankful for a family who is willing to be kind, gentle, and patient with her as she works to be comfortable and build confidence in these areas.Birdie LOVES other dogs, to play, wrestle, snuggle, tug and chase, and can be found toting all of the toys and bones (as well as unsuspecting shoes) around the house and into the back yard, arranging them sporadically to her liking. She loves to play with her dog friends and will happily share her toys! She would love to have a confident and friendly companion dog in her adoptive home for friendship and to help show her the ropes. She will need continued support with leash training and will need a family willing to provide and utilize the crate for meal times, sleeping, and for anytime she is unattended as this helps her to feel most secure and comfortable. Birdie will also require regular grooming every 4-6 weeks. She does shed (albeit VERY minimally) and has a very fine and silky coat that mats if not properly cared for. Potential adopters should have a good understanding of the needs and costs that are associated with caring for a dog that requires regular grooming and have a solid plan to help her maintain a healthy coat. Birdie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and health checked. Her adoption fee is just $200. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org- Thanks! Adopt Birdie and Receive Birdie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Birdie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Birdie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Birdie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Birdie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Birdie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Birdie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Birdie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Birdie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
