About this Dog
*Pennz (A135831) 6-month-old Alaskan Husky/Labrador Retriever mix that weighed just under 30lbs on intake and is still growing! 09/16/24 This sweet but shy young pup is Pennz! Pennz arrived at the shelter as a stray and was quite fearful on intake. She has quickly blossomed during her short stay and appears to especially take comfort in the company of other dogs. Pennz also warmed up with the care staff quickly, but still gets spooked by loud sounds or sudden movements. Pennz will need a family that will understand her fears and help her to overcome them one step at a time, she especially loves treats! Confidence building exercises and letting her explore things in a positive manner will really help her overcome those fears. It is unknown how Pennz does with other animals or children, so please be conducting those introductions in a slow, safe and controlled manner. Pennz may do best in a home without younger children due to her timid nature. She does, however, find the company of other dogs enjoyable. She becomes much more relaxed and playful when shes next to a friendly canine neighbor. Pennz is still a puppy and will require some training in her new home. She tries hard to keep her kennel clean but needs guidance regarding potty training. She would also highly benefit from a puppy class in her new home! If you are ready for the commitment of a young dog and would like to meet with Pennz, please let us know!
