About this Dog
Meet Meda, who comes to us all the way from Serbia! Meda, which means "Bear" in Serbian, was rescued by one of our adopters, Irena, who went home to visit family and saw this adorable scruffy puppy running in the streets. She couldn’t just walk away and leave him behind, so she brought him back to her mom’s house for safety. Irena shared that there are so many stray dogs in Serbia and large dogs often end up chained outside. She invested time and money in getting Meda vetted and cleared through Customs to come to the US, and Irena's mom took care of him while he did a quarantine hold. It was a team effort, and Meda has made her way to safety in Arlington, VA, and is now officially a Worthy Dog! Our local vet also saw Meda last week and he was a big hit with the staff and a perfect patient. The vet thinks he’s a Shepard mix, possibly with some Terrier. He just lost his last baby tooth, so he’s estimated to be 6 to 7 months old. He currently weighs 45 lbs, and we expect him to be 60-70 pounds at full size. The great news is that he’s a healthy young pup with excellent social skills and a very sweet nature. He’s living in a foster home with a mom, dad, dog, cats, and kids, and he does great with all of them. FOSTER MOM UPDATE - We asked Irena for an update on Meda: “Meda had an easy integration into my home. He is respectful with my dog and does well meeting all the neighborhood dogs on and off-leash. He's friendly with my cats and great with my kids. He potty trained himself, not a single accident in my home. He is also crate trained and I use the crate daily to give him some downtime. He’s not a huge fan at first and will whine when I put him in, but he does settle down. Media is a social, playful puppy who is just happy about life. His favorite thing to do is to snuggle up to a human and play. He is very people-oriented and wants to be involved and participate in everything. He is smart, trainable, and wants to please his people. He’s the kind of dog you can take with you everywhere and he greets people and other dogs with ease. My dog, Peggy, is not a fan of play and will sometimes low growl when he engages her, and Meda will just move away or lay down in submission. He’s been getting daily playdates with my neighbor’s dog, and they have a blast together. They go on walks together too. Meda is pretty good on the leash - he pulls a little bit when he sees a squirrel but has regular puppy energy and responds to 'no' and being pulled back.” ********* This adorable scruffy boy is perfect for family life — kid, dog, and cat tested. He’s getting excellent socialization in his foster home and is a pup who is ready to go and do. He needs a fun, active family and would love a young pup buddy in his new home. Apply Today! Adopt Meda and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Meda's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Meda's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Meda, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Meda's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Meda was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Meda’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Meda’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Meda’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
