About this Dog
06/13/24 22:59Dog Day Out Report from last week: Today I: met a new friend who took me for a drive and a walk! I was ready to get going and hopped in and out of the car all on my own. I wanted to sit in the front, but had to stay in the back, so instead I played with a squeaky toy and looked out the window. Once we got to the park, I wanted to play more than I wanted to walk but once I got some energy out, I was happy to walk and sniff. I saw other dogs, people, geese, and ducks â Iâm curious and like to sniff but Iâm happy to just watch them go by. I also got lots of treats for showing off my sit! Three Words to Describe Me are: Playful, Sweet, Energetic Notes from My Walker: Churroâs favorite toy is the leash, and he is very good at chewing through flat leashes quickly so make sure to bring toys and backup leashes. Even with a squeaky toy and treats it was sometimes hard to redirect from chewing the leash. He really likes playing tug, so I recommend bringing an old leash/rope toy. He really wants to play when he first gets out so I recommend playing tug/fetch for a bit before walking. Can get a little mouthy when playing â would just stop playing, say no, and have him sit. He has no problem getting in and out of the car on his own but does want to be in the front seat with you and will also chew on his harness (even with toys in the back seat). When heâs not chewing the leash he walks great, loose leash, likes to walk beside you, and checks in frequently. Knows sit really well and is food motivated. Likes to give kisses. Curious of other dogs/people/geese etc. but just watches/sniffs as they pass, doesnât really try to approach or otherwise react. Overall a sweet and playful pup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Today I: went on my first DDO at Almaden Lake. Iâm a petite friendly boy, unsure of my surroundings in the real world. I got to sniff everything on the trail and got treats for staying calm and checking in with my walker. I donât pull on the leash and generally stick with my handler. I know âsitâ and I let other dogs pass by without over-reacting. I enjoyed a pup cup on my way back to the shelter. I like playing with toys and I love getting pets.Three Words to Describe Me are: Affectionate, Gentle, MotivatedNotes from My Walker: I got the impression that Churro has not had too much exposure to the real world, as he got overstimulated pretty quickly on our walk. He did OK in the car, but would have likely jumped to the front if not for the metal barrier. He sometimes laid down calmly, sometimes looked out the window. 30 minutes into our sniff walk, he got over-stimulated and started grabbing and tugging with the leash. We kept our walk short and came back to the car by exchanging the leash for treats, playing âfind itâ and jogging with a short leash to prevent the leash from breaking. Back at the shelter, we spent couch time and played fetch with the kong and another toy. Very sweet boy. Needs training with short acclimation walks in the real world.

Adopt CHURRO and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, CHURRO's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is CHURRO's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the CHURRO, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming CHURRO's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and CHURRO was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, CHURRO’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the CHURRO’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, CHURRO’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
