About this Dog
Meet Alaska! Born around March 2020, this giant, good-natured lovebug is fully grown and weighs a healthy 90 pounds. He is a big goofball with a lovable smile. Alaska loves to get affection, and will go right up to strangers to get his massive head petted. He loves kids and does well with them. He has accidentally scratched people or knocked them off-balance when he is playing or greeting excitedly. For this reason, caution should be taken when introducing Alaska to a new people. Alaska loves to play, but generally has a low amount of energy, and doesn’t need an excessive amount of exercise. He could even be a good apartment dog, assuming is allowed due to his size. He loves to lounge next to doorways and do his job of being a speed bump and potential protector. He does not have any food aggression issues that we have seen. Sweet Alaska loves to go for walks and walks well on leash. At times he will stop and just lean against your legs for some love. Alaska is in a foster home with five other dogs, three of which he likes. For unknown reasons, he does not like one of the other dogs, and those two need to be kept separate. He is not appropriate for dog parks because he can be aggressive toward some dogs. When he was at the shelter, he gently met the community cats. Alaska is house trained. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He is crate trained but can be a little whiney if his is left there without being close to his human. He does well in the car and is a calm and patient boy most of the time. He barks occasionally outside at strangers and loud noises. Alaska was in a tenuous condition when we met him. He had a very short time before the shelter would have to put him down due to overcrowding and his health. He had a bladder stone that took up nearly his bladder. It caused him significant pain and difficulty. He had a skin infection on his chest, urine- and blood-stained fur, and a smell to match. Thankfully we were able to get him in to a veterinarian very quickly, and they successfully removed the stone. He was an amazingly sweet patient. He is now recovered and healthy, but requires daily medication and a special diet to keep him from getting further bladder stones and prevent him from leaking urine when he sleeps or gets excited. His forever family needs to take this added cost into consideration for his ongoing care. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. Adopt Alaska and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Alaska's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Alaska's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Alaska, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Alaska's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Alaska was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Alaska’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Alaska’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Alaska’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
