About this Dog
Shirley and her sister Laverne are going to do things their way to make their dreams come true. Leaving their jobs at the Milwaukee brewery, they have made their way to New England. They are determined and ready to take the next step out of their unknown past and right into the hearts of a family who will love and provide for them. Shirley is an 8-month-old labrador retriever mix weighing around 37 pounds. She is a growing girl, and it is estimated that she will be a large size gal of over 60 pounds when she is fully grown. Shirley is hopeful and certain that she will find new friends just like she had with Lenny and Squiggy. Shirley is an outgoing girl and not shy about laying down at your feet for a belly rub. She adores making friends with other dogs and is good with children. When not hanging around the Pizza Bowl she can be found exploring the outdoors and being adventurous. She has not had the opportunity to meet a cat since coming into rescue so her take on a feline companion remains an unknown. She does have a medium energy level, and she would do well in a fairly active family that will allow her many opportunities to play, explore and hang out with her family and soak up attention. Love is front and center when it comes to Shirley. Along with that is determination and she is not turning her back on learning her house, crate and leash training as all three are in progress. Learning the ropes is part of life for any house canine companion. Shirley will need her family to guide her along the way and help her to be a success that we know she will be.Making the perfect match is what Shirley dreams of. She might not have her beloved Boo Boo Kitty, but she still has lots of love to give and share with her family. The adoption fee for Shirley is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To help speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

Adopt Shirley and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shirley's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Shirley's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Shirley, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Shirley's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shirley was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shirley’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Shirley’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shirley’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
