About this Dog
PATTY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Patty Best Guess for Breed: Terrier and Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 9 months as of Sept. 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 21 lbs - has some more growing to do! Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen Patty with kids, but she can be tested! We have tested Patty with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Patty could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! Currently Living at: Puerto Rican shelter - Patty needs a foster or adopter to make her way to the DC area Special adoption considerations: After being rescued from the streets, she was very scared and shut down. However, she has been making great strides. We think Patty would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.Patty is unique in that, like many white animals, she is deaf. This will require some alternative training techniques that involve visual cues. As with any dog, training a deaf dog takes time and patience. There are some ways in which deaf and hearing dogs learn quite similarly. Repetition, reward, and consistency remain the pillars of success. She also may startle more easily. This is a congenital abnormality and should have no medical impact on her. Patty is Looking For: Meet Patty, a sweet 9-month-old female with a soft white coat who's ready to find her forever home! Patty may be deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being an affectionate and playful companion. She has a curious spirit and loves exploring her surroundings, making every moment spent with her full of joy. Patty is currently in a shelter in Puerto Rico, where she has won the hearts of everyone with her gentle nature and eagerness to connect with people. Being deaf doesn’t slow Patty down one bit—she’s ready to start learning hand signals. She thrives in a calm, patient environment and would do well with a family that is willing to continue her training and provide the love and attention she deserves. Adopt Patty and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Patty's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Patty's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Patty, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Patty's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Patty was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Patty’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Patty’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Patty’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
