About this Dog
Sophie is a beautiful blue Weimaraner born in December 2018 and weighing in around 50lbs. She is a tall girl who loves a good romp in the yard or go for a long walk/run. After some leash training, she now walks beautifully in a heel by your side. She is still discovering toys but has found that Squeaky toys are one of her favorite! At the end of the day, she enjoys a good cuddle on the couch or to just to be near her people. True to the breed, she is very velcro and will follow her person from room to room. Don't expect to pee or do anything alone with this lady! She does really well with other dogs. No history with cats but does not seem to have much of a prey drive so it might work with a kitty companion. She lives with 2 other Weims as well as many, many other dogs in her foster home. She is learning a lot from the pack and you can tell she really enjoys their company. She is also kennel trained and will go in there with zero issues. She sleeps in a kennel all night but would eventually enjoy sleeping in bed with her person. Her ideal home would be one with breed experience and either no kids or kids 10+. She was surrendered to the rescue after spending her life with 1 adult so children make her a bit nervous; mostly because she was just never exposed to them. She is also a bit mouthy when she plays, which can be off putting to small kids. We suspect she did not get exposure to many things in this world as many things seem so new to her. She is cautious of new people (though it doesn't take her long to warm up) and will bark when she sees people walking by the house and when she's riding in the car. These are things we are working on with her. An adopter who is willing to put in the time to work on confidence building and coexistence training would be great! Overall, Sophie is a very sweet and extremely intelligent dog. With some time, training and patience, she will really begin to shine! Sophie is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on Rabies & Distemper.
