About this Dog
Meet the Cookie pups! These pups came into the Shelter as a part of an accidental litter. They are in a foster home with a family and their resident animals getting socialized and learning life skills and manners. Here is what their foster reports: `These puppies are definitely some smart cookies. They are sweet, affectionate, and playful beans. They sleep in the crate all through the night with no crying or accidents (they do share a crate) they are all doing amazing with potty training. They are picking up a lot of doggy manners from their foster dog siblings and love to follow them around. They are all a little scared of cats and do bark at them a lot. Basically, anything that kind of spooks them they will bark at a lot until they get more used to it. In those cases, I use positive reinforcement train and lots of reassurance. Treats work great. I haven't had too much trouble with puppy mouth. They are teething but have lots of teething specific toys and chews/treats that it seems to keep their mouths in the right places. All know sit stay and come so far.Macaroon aka Mac: she is super even tempered. She does REALLY love food and eats extremely fast which causes her to get hiccups. I use either water, slow feeder or feeding puzzles to help slower her down Shortbread aka Shorty: This blue-eyed beauty is a bit spicy but not in a bad way. She just knows what she likes and wants and definitely will use her voice to tell you. She is also extremely sweet and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs. She is a great eater and is food motived.Snickerdoodle aka Snickers: This sweetie is a bit shy at first but quickly warms up and is just the cutest, sweetest bean. She loves behind the ear scratches and belly pets. She does get very distracted when it comes to eating so I do need to help her stay focused so she can finish her food before her siblings try to get it. She is definitely getting better with keeping her focus while eating. She very much enjoys her big foster sisters and often sits between them as they keep look out onto the street for people. she is being a guard dog with them. She also loves to snuggle up to them. `
