About this Dog
***Mae is currently at our rescue in Georgia but also available for adoption in New Jersey and surrounding areas. Applications for the adoption of Mae should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Mae and/or our adoption policy should be sent to [email protected]. Please no phone calls.*** Mae and another dog, Athena, had been abandoned along the road just a short distance from SoCo Rescue's location. Scott Bennet actually came upon the dogs owner as he was he was leaving the two dogs, gave chase when the man quickly drove away and was able to get the man to pull over. Of course the man denied having left the dogs, but his mannerisms told Scott all he needed to know. After questioning the man and writing down his tag number, Scott made his way back to where he had first encountered the man and dogs and was able to catch both dogs, one of them being Mae. After securing the dogs in his bus, Scott took them to SoCo Rescue and contacted the sheriff's department to report the crime, but the department acted as if they didn't care about the incident and refused to send an officer to meet with Scott. Since that day, Mae has become accepting of her new home at SoCo, proving to be very people and dog friendly. At first she was kept kenneled with Athena until the latter dog started to act aggressively towards Mae, who did defend herself but was never the instigator. Despite the treatment from her former owner and all of the changes that she's had to endure, Mae has remained a very friendly and playful girl. She loves having room to run, explore and just roll around in the grass. Mae should make a great companion for just about any home, even one with older children. Mae has been kept up to date on her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly preventatives since her arrival at SoCo Rescue. On Sept 10 Mae was spayed and tested negative for Heartworm. She may need additional house and/or other basic training.

Adopt Mae and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mae's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Mae's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Mae, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Mae's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mae was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mae’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Mae’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mae’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
