About this Dog
Maxwell (A129556) is a 1-year-and-11-month-old Chihuahua x Pitbull mix who weighed 29.2 pounds on intake! Update from foster: Mister Maxwell has been doing well in foster! He was said to walk wonderfully on a leash and loves to lounge on the back of cozy couches! Extra blankets are a plus! Max was said to be nervous around big dogs but warms up to them as long as they are receptive to him. He was also said to do well with the cat in foster and would follow them around! Please ensure appropriate introductions are made with new potential animal friends. Max was said to be uncertain when it came to meeting new people and young children (under 7). He may appreciate a home without small kiddos to help him feel more comfortable and allow him to have his personal space. If you are interested in meeting Max, please let us know! 08/22/24 This shy little guy is Maxwell aka Max! Max was previously known as Buddy at the shelter. Max was surrendered to the shelter because his owner was moving out of state and unable to bring him with. Max was described as shy but friendly dog who needs a family that will respect his boundaries. He has no history with children but was said to do well with strangers and adults. Max was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken. We encourage his next owner to work with a certified trainer to help build his confidence and possibly learn a trick or two! Max is overweight and would highly benefit from going on a diet. This will not only help his joints in the long run but also help him feel livelier in general! Max did come from a home with other dogs and cats. He was said to do well with them but please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any and all new potential friends. Max was known to be a digger if left outdoors unattended so make sure that you are supervising him when outdoors or you may end up with a hole dug in the yard! If you are interested in meeting Max and helping him continue to grow into the best version of himself, please let us know! 12/13/22 This handsome little guy is Buddy! Buddy's previous owner was not able to give him the attention he needed. He is still working on mastering a few things like potty training and learning to `stay.` Buddy is not housebroken but he is learning to use potty pads. He is looking for an owner that is willing to continue that work, or graduate him to being housebroken. Buddy can be a little timid but is said to be gentle when playing and to ride well in the car. It should be noted that Buddy can escape over a short baby gate, so he may need a taller barrier if being contained to a certain part of the house. If you are interested in this sweet, little guy, please give the shelter a call!

Adopt MAXWELL and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MAXWELL's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is MAXWELL's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the MAXWELL, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MAXWELL's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MAXWELL was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MAXWELL’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the MAXWELL’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MAXWELL’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
