About this Dog
Cocochanel is a tiny, easygoing little guy with a lot of heart. He loves being with his person but is also perfectly fine doing his own thing. Cocochanel came into rescue after being surrendered due to medical neglect. He did have surgery for a luxating patella on one of his back legs. His other back leg had been broken many times and did not heal correctly so he is unable to bend it, but he’s not letting it slow him down. He gets around just fine! He does his best to signal when he needs to go outside and does well went let out regularly! He is old and isn't the fastest so he does wear belly bands. Life has been pretty low-key for Cocochanel since his surgery. His days are filled with napping, snuggling, and basking in the sun. His absolute favorite thing is curling up next to you on the couch, wrapping himself up like a burrito in his little blanket—he’s the ultimate cuddle bug. He’s adjusted well to his foster home and barks only occasionally, usually when the other dogs do. Cocochanel would thrive in a calm home, preferably without big dogs or very young kids, due to his size and special needs. He’s such a laid-back, sweet companion that any family looking for a loving, mellow dog will be lucky to have him! Watch Coco's happy dance! *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. CocoChanel is from Texas. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you. Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Adopt CocoChanel and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, CocoChanel's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is CocoChanel's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the CocoChanel, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming CocoChanel's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and CocoChanel was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, CocoChanel’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the CocoChanel’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, CocoChanel’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
