About this Dog
Please visit our main website https://almosthomenm.org/ We also offer boarding and have a Facebook page with photos and stories. Be aware birthdays and breeds listed are our best guesses based on looks - we seldom know this information unless they come in with registration papers. Approximate DOB 4/1/2023 Approximate Adult Size - Small (11.5 lbs) History- We saw a post on FB from another rescue down south that they were dealing with a hoarding situation and needed help from other rescues t take some of the dogs in. Since we had just brought in 7 I really didn't have the space so I didn't respond. But I went to bed thinking about these dogs and asked God for a sign how I could help. Crazy! That morning I woke up to a text - our boarding kennel had a cancellation so I pretty much took it as a sign. I messaged the other rescue still hoping that all the dogs had found rescues to accept them. Sadly the rescue replied that all the local rescues were full but some were able to squeeze a few in but they were reaching out to surrounding out of state rescues for assistance. I told them if all else fails we could take 4-5 if they had no other options. Well, they responded that they had a bunch left so we agreed for them to send some up on transport. That weekend Kimber, Jessie, Max, and Bandit made their way to us. Luckily another rescuer was at the transport also receiving dogs from the same case and he offered to help me move mine from the transporters crates to mine as mine were older dogs and more of a flight risk if they got loose. So here they are we made it home and we've been working with them on socialization. Temperament- Still very shy and scared when meeting people but he is trying. This guy wants so badly to be loved but is just still so worried about trusting people. Once we corner him and pet him and give him cookies then he will start giving little kisses and sit with me but I have to kind of show him every single time that there is nothing to be scared of. When he first got here he was so scared he was trying to climb the kennel walls to escape and just ran and ran and ran around the kennel. He was terrified so we are making progress just a little slower than the others. Energy Level- At this point he is very mellow however I do think that will change in time since he is so young. I think right now he mainly just lays in the corner so he can just observe the world around him. Dogs/Cats- Seems to enjoy the company of the other 3 dogs he came in with but he really doesn't seem to want to play with them at this point. I do think he plays when I am not out there but once he sees people he goes to his corner. Housetrained- He is currently using a dog door perfectly to go out to do his business. However, we are recommending that whoever adopts him continue monitoring him closely since he is from a hoarding case where 30 dogs lived in a home and used it as an indoor bathroom. Crating, leashed to you, and/or use of a belly band whenever you are not able to watch him is highly recommended until he knows the rules in the new home. We also highly recommend a home with no other male dogs as this can more than likely start a peeing contest. He is wonderful at using a dog door and knows to go potty outside but will attempt to mark in the building as we have both he and Max together still. Bandit is super cute and is coming around. He has the sweetest, gentlest eyes he is just still a little worried about this change. You have to remember he lived in a house with 30 dogs his entire life so he probably didn't get much attention. But he does enjoy it once we get past that initial fear issue every time we walk in. I think he just needs more time to learn how awesome people can be. I'm sure with some more one on one time he is going to blossom into the best little dog ever. He will make someone who is patient, loving, and quiet a sweet, loyal companion if they are willing to just give him a chance and earn his trust. Once he trusts you he will seek out your love and attention it just takes a little time and treats initially. Adoption fee $200 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Adopt **BANDIT and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, **BANDIT's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is **BANDIT's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the **BANDIT, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming **BANDIT's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and **BANDIT was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, **BANDIT’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, **BANDIT’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
