About this Dog
BITSY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Bitsy and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Sept. 22nd) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Bitsy Best Guess for Breed: Lab and flat coated retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 9 weeks as of 9/3 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 6lbs as of 9/3 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. This Adorable Puppy is Looking For: This sweetie is one of a litter of six (Bessie, Bing, Bitsy, Blossom, Bonnie, and Bubbles). They've loved growing up in their puppy pile but now they're ready to put on their big puppy pants and head out to their forever homes! They've talked it over and consulted with the bigger dogs, and this is what they want right now: Lots of play time! Snuggles and cuddles! Quality kibble! And then when they're a little bigger they want to explore the neighborhood - the local parks - the world! Making new pup and people pals along the way is high on their wish lists as well. Bitsy says she'd like to go to puppy school as well, so she can show you how super smart she is. What do you say? Does Bitsy get to spend all her days with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Bitsy is doing great! She is a typical sweet, playful, feisty puppy! She enjoys running around and entertaining herself with toys. Her favorites are plush squeaky toys - she runs, pounces on a toy, then shakes it around. She loves her big foster brother Duque and follows him around like a shadow. She’s persistent in trying to get him to play with her, even though he’s not interested. Her potty training is off to a good start - she waits until she’s out of her crate to potty and is beginning to go outside. She’s still adjusting to being on leash and so sometimes she gets scared and freezes up, but she’s been gaining confidence from going outside with Duque and following what he does. She’s a smart puppy and already figured out what the kitchen is. When I go in she waits at the threshold and watches me, then gets excited if I start preparing her food! She had a couple lonely nights crying in her crate at first (probably missing her sisters). Then, I got a Snuggle Puppy and now she cuddles right up to it and falls asleep. She is friendly to all, and some kids in my neighborhood loved playing with her the other day! She is cuddly and likes to get my pets and attention. Bitsy is an awesome little pup! Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than January 1, 2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Adopt Bitsy and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bitsy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Bitsy's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Bitsy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bitsy's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bitsy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bitsy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Bitsy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bitsy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
