About this Bird
Beautiful domesticated pigeon Elsa was rescued from the middle of a busy road where a kind driver saw her not looking right. She pulled over, easily scooped her up, and brought her home. Within the same day, she got some pigeon seeds and contacted Palomacy about the little bird who was being so friendly with her children (who gave Elsa her name). Palomacy's phone line volunteer very astutely noticed signs of ataxia in a video sent by the finder, and arranged for a medical foster to receive her that same day. Elsa was extremely weak and emaciated; in the time before her rescue, she had lost more than 40% of her normal body weight and was suffering from the very serious symptoms of starvation and dehydration. Her medical foster immediately set to work taking appropriate steps to try to save her life. After a few very nerve-wracking initial days, Elsa began to regain strength in her legs. She slowly went from weak, lethargic, ataxic, and disinterested in her surroundings to curious and alert. As she further recovered, her balance improved, and she eventually began to gain strength in her wings. Elsa now looks like any other strong, happy pigeon and has joined her medical foster's aviary flock. She owns the top of the food bin and fiercely defends it from any intruders, as she should. In all other parts of the aviary, she is a peaceful flock member with pigeon friends and favorite spots ot hang out. She's a beautiful, easy to love bird with a gentle, curious, and attentive demeanor. We are so happy to see her thriving in her new life, and we are grateful that a group of kind and smart people all quickly figured out the right steps to take to save her life. So many equally lovely pigeons are endangered by humans every day, and she is one of the very few lucky ones that was then rescued by folks determined to better represent humanity. Please apply to adopt http://www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/

Adopt Elsa and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Elsa's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Elsa's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Elsa, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Elsa's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Elsa was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Elsa’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Elsa’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Elsa’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
