About this Dog
The Bear In early July, The Bear arrived from a super overcrowded shelter in Georgia. All we knew about him was that he was (obviously) adorable, young, and very friendly. The folks at the shelter though he was the sweetest guy! So ours he became! We had no idea when The Bear came that he had been morbidly abused. He was only 18 weeks old when we got him. So in that time, we know now, he endured horrible pain AND had enough time to heal on his own without medical intervention. This means it had to have happened when he was very young! His mouth was bound and the ligature cut deeply into his lower jaw. It was so tight that it ripped his lower lip and left a portion of it hanging outside his mouth. Such an incredibly sensitive area that’s highly vascularized…. It must have bled and bled. It had to have HURT terribly! As so often is the case, the pain he experienced at the hands of a human has done nothing to discourage The Bear from being the MOST loving little guy. He CRAVES being held, touched, snuggled and while he’s friendly and playful with every dog he meets, his top priority is getting the attention and affection of his humans. Makes ya sick doesn’t it? The Bear is finishing up his vetting but local families to the Tampa area will be considered for a foster to adopt while we do so. He’s done a GREAT job putting on weight (he was emaciated, probably from the injury making it so difficult to eat!) and growing his hair (he was missing patches and only thinly covered when he got here). His hair is super duper thick and getting longer now! He’s looking more shepherdy by the day! The Bear couldn’t deserve a lovely little family more. He is truly a sweet little soul and it’s unfathomable how some monster could have hurt him. As mentioned, The Bear is friendly with absolutely everyone - fur and skin alike - and while we haven’t had him around kitties, we even think that would be ok, too! He DEFINITELY can be with kids and would likely LOVE to have some of his own! Apps for this precious boy @ maxxandme.org Adoption fee $400

Adopt The Bear and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, The Bear's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is The Bear's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the The Bear, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming The Bear's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and The Bear was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, The Bear’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the The Bear’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, The Bear’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
