About this Bird
Hatch Date: 1997 Baby is a 27 year old female Congo African Grey parrot who lived with one family for her entire life. Baby takes her time to build trust with new people, but she is an easy-going and funny bird once she settles in. She makes a wide variety of household noises such as beeps and ringing, as well as saying a few phrases. She also won’t hesitate to make a raspberry if you offer her food she doesn’t like. Baby eats well and is learning to eat a diet more appropriate for parrots. Her previous family fed her mostly from what they were eating, as well as seeds. Baby loves a variety of vegetables. She is learning to eat a healthy pellet diet and is doing really well with the transition. Baby should probably remain in her cage during family meals because she will not hesitate to fly onto the table and steal your food, especially pizza! Baby enjoys time out of her cage and exploring the house. She won’t step up from her cage yet, but enjoys gentle head scratches. She also LOVES her toys, especially anything cardboard. Baby does currently display some hormonal behaviors, with her foster mom especially. She is responding well to ignoring the hormonal behaviors and her diet adjustments should help as well. Her forever family should be ready to continue working on reducing the hormonal behavior. This laid-back funny bird would be a great addition to a bird-savvy family. Baby has been disease-tested for Psittacosis, PBFD and Pachecos. Baby is being fostered in Philadelphia, PA, and will require three in-person visits before adoption; We do not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds live in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Baby, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org Please read our adoption policies, and fees and complete an adoption application.

Adopt Baby and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Baby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Baby's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Baby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Baby's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Baby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Baby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Baby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Baby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
