About this Dog
we have approved an adoption for Bandicoot so please check out our many other great dogs! Name:Bandicoot Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of August 2024 Gender: male Approximate Weight: 7 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested. We would be cautious placing Bandicoot in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus. Needs a foster or forever home in the DC area after completing heartworm treatment! Special Adoption Considerations: Bandicoot is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Bandicoot is Looking For: His forever home! This utterly adorable little pup landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He's eager to once again have his own humans for sniffy walks and world exploration - and snuggles! He'd also like quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under hisown roof. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and snuggles and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does Bandicoot have a spot in your lap and your life? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Bandicoot and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bandicoot's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Bandicoot's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Bandicoot, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bandicoot's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bandicoot was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bandicoot’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Bandicoot’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bandicoot’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
