About this Dog
Meet Cumulus (named after a type of Cloud) Cu ("Q") is a mammoth of a guy weighing in at 75lbs. He's a year and a half old and was surrendered to a kill shelter in NC when his owners claim they no longer have a place to house him. Owner Surrenders are the first to be euthanized because most counties don't have a mandatory hold like a stray animal. We were able to rescue Cu and he made his way to us in MD. He's settling into our routine nicely and is very smart. We're guessing Cumulus is a Malamute/Husky mix. He's ginormous and his paws are the size of a lions! He still needs to gain some weight - he's actually quite bony under all that hair. He's high energy and needs a proper outlet or can become agitated. Cu is demanding, attentive and eager to be part of the pack. He's the type of Husky that NEEDS to come through our program. He is gorgeous and lots will want him for his looks. But he's still very much impressionable. In the wrong hands he could be easily damaged. We will need to match him with an active, experienced owner. Cumulus will need a strong, confident leader who can exercise, stimulate and provide structure for him. He's very dog friendly which will help him exert himself appropriately. So far we haven't noticed any prey drive, but have no way to truly cat test. He's likely one with slow introductions would be okay but we can never promise such. Cumulus is a huge, vocal guy. Apartment living is out of the question. He loves to play ball in the yard and is actually pretty good on a leash. He has not tested any gates or fences. We're continuing to work on house training. He is very food motivated and knows some basic commands. His coat needs to TLC and will take some time. But he'll be even more glorious. He is a wooly and will need constant grooming. Cumulus is affectionate and likes his chest and belly rubbed and gives kisses frequently. He is eager to please and wants to be wherever you are. He will self entertain with a high value chew toy once he's properly exercised. In our care, and with the right Adopter, Cu will be a diamond in the ruff! We do not recommend Cu go to a home with small children. Again, Cu is located in MD. His adoption area is MD and surrounding states. We want to keep him nearby as of now, in case his new family needs continued support. Exceptions would be made on a case by case basis. www.huskyrescueteam.org

Adopt Cumulus and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cumulus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Cumulus's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Cumulus, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Cumulus's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cumulus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cumulus’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Cumulus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cumulus’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
