About this Dog
Gilbert Grape is about 3 years old and 13 pounds. Gilbert is a great little dog. He is active, as expected for a Spitz breed, but can settle down when there isn't anyone around to play with. He loves playing with other dogs, and would be great in a home with another dog. He is totally house trained and knows how to use a dog door. He is always ready for a walk and doesn't bark at others while out; he does pull on leash. He is very sweet with his people and he meets new people well. He would be fine in a home with older children. He does bark when his people leave and might not be a good apartment dog, but does not actually have separation anxiety. Gilbert had cherry eye (prolapse of the third eyelid gland) when he came to us, and he is still recovering from the surgery to correct it, but he is ready to start looking for his forever home and to meet new people. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Gilbert is $500. If you are interested in adopting Gilbert, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Gilbert Grape, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gilbert Grape's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gilbert Grape was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gilbert Grape’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Gilbert Grape’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gilbert Grape’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
