About this Cat
Castaway is an approximately 1-year-old adult male domestic shorthair. We don’t know his history, as he was unfortunately dumped in a box at the A.R.F. Wheaton office one Saturday morning. Castaway may take some time to get to know new people and places, but once he’s comfortable he loves to explore his surroundings and can barely be confined to a space. He loves playing with his cat dancer and chasing flies. He can be very talkative, especially when he wants attention. Castaway is not really a lap cat but when he lays down next to you, he is very fond of head, chin, and cheek scratches. He really can be very affectionate. He doesn’t like being petted much on his back and if he’s annoyed with you he may try to run away or lightly nip you, but he has never lashed out. Castaway can be a bit skittish around loud or unusual sounds. He is an indoor cat and has no issues with using his litter box. If you would like an affectionate, smart, and active cat, Castaway is perfect for you. He has not been tested with other cats or dogs. Likely best as an only cat in the household where he can absorb all of the love and attention himself. Castaway is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Castaway’s adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Castaway, please fill out our Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adopt Castaway and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Castaway's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Castaway's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Castaway, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Castaway's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Castaway was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Castaway’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Castaway’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Castaway’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
