About this Dog
Bo (TN) is a neutered male Pit Bull Terrier mix rescued in Tennessee. Our veterinary partner estimates that Bo is 4 years old at the time of intake in October 2022. It's hard to believe that this total sweetheart of a pup suffered unimaginable cruelty when, as a puppy, both of his front legs were broken and just left untreated. We can't imagine the pain this adorable boy endured. Because Bo's legs healed on their own, they are causing Bo to walk a bit off kilter. Our veterinary partner does not believe Bo's legs can be surgically repaired at this point as the injuries were sustained 4 years ago and arthritis has set in. Bo has been diagnosed with megaesophagus and requires a special feeding routine, but he does well with the routine. Despite all of this, Bo has a fantastic, quirky personality and loves everyone he meets. He is a smart, happy, fun loving boy! Bo is dog friendly and does well with his foster doggy siblings. He loves, loves, loves to play! Bo may be compromised in his ambulation with long distances but he can certainly bounce around and chase after his foster doggy siblings! Although Bo has special needs and would require a home where he is understood and cared for to meet his needs, he has so much to offer. He requires patience as he does ambulate at his own speed and feeding takes a little longer than putting a dish in front of him. He is partially house trained but does need to wear a belly band as getting outside in time to do his business isn’t always possible. Bo is able to get up and down small steps; he needs help with “regular” steps, getting in and out of vehicles and walking for any distance. His foster uses a harness to assist in his ambulation when required, and Bo is easy going and doesn’t fuss. He does manage to climb onto a chair on his own and curls up. Bo is THE kindest, sweetest soul - he looks at you with the most soulful eyes. He loves to snuggle, loves belly rubs; most of all he just wants to be around his people! When you meet Bo, you can’t help but love him. Bo is such a sweet, gentle soul who loves everyone he meets. He has a very chill personality, loves to play with his foster siblings, and is a great snuggle-bug. While Bo certainly has special needs, he is absolute perfection!!!This guy needs a home where he will be loved and treated like the special boy that he is. If you can give Bo that forever home, please apply online to adopt Bo (TN) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
