About this Dog
Buddy is a courtesy post only, and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, or other representations made by the poster with respect to this dog. You must contact his foster mom Penny directly @ 561-707-1792 Meet Buddy! At only 4 years old, this sweet boy was about to be euthanized at the shelter because he has arthritis in his back legs. This made him terribly uncomfortable laying on the hard kennel floor day after day, and the shelter staff decided he shouldn’t continue suffering and Buddy was scheduled to be euthanized. A volunteer dog walker who loved Buddy heard about what was going to happen to him and acted fast. She couldn’t let him be put down over a health condition that could be easily managed in a home environment, so she asked the shelter to spare his life and started fostering him. All Buddy needs to feel comfortable is a soft, cushioned place to rest, and to be given some anti-inflammatory/pain meds mixed in with his breakfast and dinner (he gobbles it all up with no hassle at all). Buddy is so grateful that he was given a second chance at life! He LOVES all people and other dogs. He would thrive in a home with another dog. He is great at sharing toys with his current foster sister, and has shown no signs of aggression. He is completely potty trained and crate trained! His favorite activities include short walks, napping on his favorite human’s laps, belly rubs, eating treats, and watching Disney movies. He’s an extremely laid-back boy who just wants to be by your side. He is often complemented on his striking appearance, with his jet-black fur and chesnut eyes. Because of his arthritis, he cannot do any strenuous hiking or long walks. He has trouble with more than a couple of stairs, so he would do best in a home where he can hang out on ground level. He just needs a couple of short walks a day, and he will be set to lounge very happily in the house all day and night. He's an extremely easy-going, cuddly, SWEET dog. Buddy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. If you’re looking for the most chill, affectionate pal ever, please call or text Penny (Buddy’s foster mom) at 561-707-1792.
