About this Dog
Hi there! I'm River, and I've been told that I'm basically love in doggy form. I'm an affectionate 5-year-old guy who wants nothing more than to be where my people are. I love to give hugs and curl up next to you on the couch, and if I can't do that then I'll sit quietly at your feet while you work. One of my very favorite things is to put my front paws on your leg or arm, to let you know that I'm here and I love you. I don't want to brag, but it has been said that I'm essentially 50 pounds of heart covered in soft, caramel covered fur. Before coming to CAWS I was mostly kept in a backyard, but now I'm learning about the big world out there. I like to go for walks around the neighborhood, but other than that I don't require a lot of exercise. I don't mind other dogs, but I'm not super playful with them. My current house has a very energetic dog and she tries to play with me all the time; I just politely decline and she eventually stops trying. I do have a silly side, though - you'll see it when you squirt me with the hose or turn on the sprinklers. I LOVE playing in the water! I think I'd prefer to live with adults, since I don't really understand this thing called "spatial reasoning" and it's possible that I would accidentally knock over little kids. According to my DNA test, I'm an Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix. Which means that while I deeply love my people and want to pour allll my love into them, I can be a little slow to warm up to new people. And as a true herding dog, I sometimes respond to stress by getting a little nippy. My ideal people will be familiar with these behaviors and respectful of my need for space at times. The good news is that I'm super quiet in my crate and will happily hang out in there when you have visitors. (Bonus points if I have something yummy to chew on!) To meet River, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. River's adoption fee is $200. Adopt River and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, River's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is River's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the River, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming River's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and River was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, River’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the River’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, River’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
