About this Dog
MAX NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Max Best Guess for Breed: Catahoula Leopard dog and Australian shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of July 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested. We have tested Max with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Max could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner -- needs foster or forever home!! Max is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this handsome guy landed in the shelter. He's eager to once again have his own humans to trot alongside on sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well. Shelter staff have tested him with other dogs both on- and off-leash and say he did well with them; he is just friendly towards them. What Max wants most of all is to know where he belongs, to be safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange he has so much to offer - adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship. His adopters gotta be prepared for one thing though - they are likely to hear "oh that dog is so good looking!" a lot. If you're up for that attention and think Max is the one for you - see below for how to apply!Notes from the Shelter: Max is really a jack of all trades when it comes to play styles. He can be a rowdy player with dogs are also up for rowdy play. He likes chasing other dogs and being chased by other dogs. However, he can also be a gentle player when he needs to be and has sometimes been described as submissive. He has been doing well with leash walking. What Foster Says About Me: Max is a very good boy. Did very well with my resident dog who can sometimes be a bit picky. He was very respectful when playing. He did pretty well on leash, but still needs a little work. He is not fully potty trained as he had one accident, but he'll likely catch on quickly since he seems like a very smart guy. He was a bit of a velcro dog (similar to my resident dog) and followed me around everywhere I went. He definitely likes being around people and had no problem snuggling up. He shared toys with my dog with no issues. He definitely seems food motivated, but he does not scarf down his food. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adopt Max and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Max's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Max's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Max, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Max's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Max was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Max’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.

We want the Max’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Max’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
