About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 06/25/24 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release/breeder retiring Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yoshi is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 6 lbs Height: 9 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. Yoshi has been known to get out of her current fence. We've been fortunate that her foster home is 1/2 mile off the highway and she has always been sighted and brought right back. We do not recommend to other adopters that you depend on a fence to keep Yoshi secure. Trust a leash. You're also going to get to work on her leash skills. What kind of home would be best for me? This happy little girl came to us from a breeder. Yoshi can be shy with new people but give her a few days and you'd never know she was a retired breeder dog. Once she knows you, she is a social, joyful girl that enjoys playing with other dogs and toys. Her favorites are squeaky toys (just a warning). Yoshi can take a minute to warm to new people but before long she'll come to you for loving and playtime. Yoshi will blend seamlessly into your apartment or house, but if you live in an apartment, regular trips to the dog park for socialization and exercise will be essential. She is clean in her crate and should quickly adapt to a potty training with a consistent routine. Yoshi will be great with a single adopter, a couple, or a family if they take the time to play with her, train her, and love on her. Yoshi should do well with respectful kids eight (8) and up. Yoshi loves other dogs and while she would do fine as an only dog with lots of attention, she would also love a canine companion, especially for the times you leave the home. What is my personality like? Yoshi is just a joyful little girl. She loves all dogs and will play with them until she conks out. She may be too playful for a home with cats. How do I act when I first meet new people? Yoshi takes a minute or two to warm to new people, treats and toys speed up that process. Once she gives you the ok, she enjoys being held and loved on as well as playing. As a breeder release Yoshi is still learning cues like down, sit, come, and stay. She also needs leash training, so be prepared to invest time in teaching these skills. This training will not only help her adapt but will also strengthen your bond with her. Yoshi can be a very active girl, running around the yard playing with other dogs, chasing her squeaky toys, or just doing zoomies. Like any youngster who plays hard, after this she simply crashes and sleeps with the same gusto she played. This joyous little queen is ready for a loving home where she can be pampered and cherished. Add Yoshi to your life and make her your new royal companion - trumpet flares not included! Other tips and tidbits: Yoshi's birthday is we believe 06/27/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
