About this Cat
Rocket is 9mos old, weighs 9lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped. Rocket's guardian adds: "He dislikes/fears fireworks (mild, normal level of fear) and fast movements. If you reach nicely for him with his awareness, he's fine; running into the room or trying to grab him will send him running. He has free roam of home office, where I telework most days, during the day and at night. He eats canned and dry food; hates 9 Lives canned." Also, his guardian doesn't know how he fairs during car rides. Rocket's guardian explains why she has made the decision to rehome him: "Rocket is part of a litter that was trapped under TNR for socialization. He has been "in custody" since about 3-4 months old. Now that he is social, I wanted to make him and his siblings available for adoption." Rocket's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Neuter Dec 6, 2023; Rabies and FRVCP vaccine Dec 6. 2023. Sibling was combo tested -/- for FIV/FeLV (if only this litter of kittens would be in household, there is no real reason to test. However, if there are other cats, the adopter might want to test for assurance.) He has not received FeLV vaccine." Rocket's guardian states the following regarding children: Although Rocket hasn't lived with nor otherwise been around children, his guardian recommends his living with children, stating... "No direct experience with children. Rocket is a bit more shy and independent than his sisters. He took the longest to "come around". He is in no way aggressive, but he may spook a bit if you come at him too quickly. He is getting more confident daily, and seeking out affection/petting. With older, respectful children, I think he would do fine." Rocket's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Rocket lives with a dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating... "Inside only cat. Our large dog greets at the baby gate door, and has also been in the room. Rocket does not run, but does not approach the dog. Not afraid." Rocket's guardian states the following regarding cats: Rocket lives with cats, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating... "Rocket, like his siblings, loves other cats, and plays very nicely with them (within the reason to be expected of siblings...). He seeks contact with my personal cats (who are hissy), and is unphased by them. When play gets rambunctious, he is the more likely to calm down and step back, allowing his sisters to control the games. Very respectful!" Rocket's guardian describes him as: Playful Friendly Shy Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent House-Trained Likes men Likes women Rocket's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Rocket would do well in an indoor-only home with other cats, and a family who wants a somewhat independent cat. He likes to be pet, but isn't a big pick up or lap cat. He'd love a the ability to go on a catio or screened porch. NEVER a declaw!" Rehoming Fee: $75 Location: Odenton, MD
