About this Dog
Meet Nucita! I deeply admire the compassion our rescuer’s show the neglected, abandoned, or abused animals they find in the islands. They face the intense emotions and challenges I only hear about from afar. Rescuers truly make the difference between life and death. I met Nucita in Puerto Rico last September, and she stood out among the many dozens of dogs I encountered. Nucita had been hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road for days when our rescuers found her. She was unable to walk and they assumed she would need surgery. Sometimes there are animals you have to be in the presence of to fully understand how special they are. She's such a gentle, loving soul. Nucita has a calming presence that is hard to describe but deeply felt. Miraculously, while I was visiting, she started to walk again. Now, after a long recovery, Nucita is ready for her forever home. At about 3 years old and 38 lbs, she’s a loving girl who does best with older kids (8+ years). She would love a home where she can cuddle up on the couch as a part of the family. Nucita is house trained and has nearly perfect house manners. She has full reign of the kitchen when we're not home and there have been no issues (no destructive behavior, counter surfing, etc). Nucita is friendly with other dogs, spayed, vaccinated, and social. She needs a loving home. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting her, please complete our application.

Adopt Nucita and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Nucita's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Nucita's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Nucita, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Nucita's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Nucita was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Nucita’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Nucita’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Nucita’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
