About this Dog
COURTESY LISTING If you would like to learn more about TITAN please contact [email protected]. TITAN is a Malamute and Wolf dog mix. He is shy around most strangers, but warms up more quickly to women than he does men. He can take a while to warm up to those he doesn’t know and he picks and chooses who he wants near him. He is neutered and has shown his foster mom a high prey drive with small animals - cats, small dogs and chickens. He loves to play with a tug rope, but don’t leave it unattended unless you want to come back to shredded pieces. He loves to play as well, including stealing gloves off your hands. You will have a hard time getting them back, but he is learning "leave-it". Titan is an escape artist personified. If he can get a foothold in the fencing, he can climb as high as 7 feet so a taller enclosure is a must, like 7.5 to 8 feet high. A dig barrier will be a must as well since he can dig a small 2’ wide X 3’ long X 3’ to 4’ crater in very short time. He is going to need patient, kind and loving human[s] that are willing to get to know him and earn his trust. To reduce his stress, it will help his transition into his new home if he has a large breed, friendly female dog of a similar caliber & mindset. Once Titan trusts you, he wants to be loved as much as his human will give him. He will need to be lead trained and is highly intelligent, but quietly stubborn. He is very gentle taking treats and not food aggressive and very food motivated unless stressed. His current foster mom believes he was used to coming in the house but cannot vouch that he is housetrained in any way. Titan is currently living at a foster in Klamath Falls, OR.
