About this Dog
Animal Proflie: Orca is an estimated 1.5 year old 40 lb female lab mix who was found wandering in freezing temps in Moses Lake WA. Orca is friendly meeting people. She is a little awkward and unsure but not reactive or aggressive meeting new dogs, and would likely benefit from having a friendly resident dog in the home. She has lived with two other dogs and is left in the house loose with the other dogs with no issue when the humans are not home; she is now house-trained and crate trained. She has been exposed to dogs and kids and done well with all. She has not been tested with cats. She is a bit unsure in new environments and will need a patient home that can help guide her and continue her training. Foster Update: Orca is a super sweet girl. She loves to give kisses and get attention from her people. She’s good with basic commands that include sit, stay, come, go to bed, and in the crate (which was new to her). She’s not destructive and I’m sure would be fine alone outside of the crate. In the beginning she was very timid and scared on walks. She seems much more comfortable now with the city sights and sounds, although she still shies away from buses and trucks or other big and loud vehicles. She’s generally friendly with other people, although she's usually shy about saying hello. She’s curious but unsure about other dogs and she’s also usually fine to just walk on by. She'd likely do well living with other dogs as she has previously. Her leash walking is a work in progress and she'll need continued training on that. Her young dog energy is starting to appear now and she’s much more energetic on walks. She has done well hiking and would probably be a good running buddy! She likes to do zoomies outside in the yard and jumps up when excited and wants to play, so that's something we’re working on. Adoption Info: Orca's adoption fee is $550, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Orca was found as a stray in Moses Lake in January 2024; she was microchipped and had been adopted thru Grant County Animal Outreach but apparently the adopters had dumped her in freezing temps. The finders kept her until she could be transferred to rescue. DGS accepted her in May 2024 and she will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.

Adopt Orca and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Orca's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Orca's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Orca, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Orca's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Orca was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Orca’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Orca’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Orca’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
