About this Dog
Chetti is probably a pit mix, is 1yo, weighs 43 lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Chetti's guardian adds: "Chetti knows a few command - sit, touch (she will come when called and touch the caller's hand). Chetti does not like her harness. Once, we pinched her skin with the buckles and now she is afraid of the harness. She will growl if we try to put it on her. During the day, she is crated; at night, she sleeps with a human in a bed or on the couch. She likes riding in the car. Chetti likes to go for walks and will play ball for hours! Chetti has NO concept of personal space and wants to sit on your lap or right next to you at all times." Chetti's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "Chetti doesn't get along with our 20lb. dog. The two dogs have had over a dozen fights, all leading to injuries. We have consulted with two different private trainers and our vet. All three have recommended rehoming Chetti. We have tried to keep them separated for the past few months, but it isn't foolproof and we are afraid that another fight may lead to a serious or fatal injury. She would do best as an only pet. She does get jealous of any attention given to our other dog. In addition, she is still very puppy like and shouldn't be around small kids." Bite/Lunge/Attack incidents: Chetti's guardian is unsure of the actual dates, because Chetti and her canine sister, Rosie, have been in at least a dozen fights, which began immediately but have become worse over the past 6 months Chetti has lived there. Sometimes the fights broke the skin and Rosie required medical treatment for a bite above her eye. Animal control has not been involved. Chetti's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Chetti has been bitten by my other dog and it drew blood." Chetti's guardian states the following regarding children: Since Chetti hasn't lived with children, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with young children, stating... "Chetti bascially ignores children encountered outside of our home. She has spent time around teenage boys and has done fine. She does get nervous around new people sometimes, so I would not trust her around young children." Chetti's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Although Chetti lives with another dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating... "Chetti has had different reactions to different dogs. Some she ignores, others (especially those that bark at her) she will bark back and the hair on her back will rise. She may do okay with a submissive dog." Chetti's guardian states the following regarding cats: Although Chetti lives with a cat, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "Chetti gets jealous of any attention given to our other animals, so she would do best as an only dog." Chetti's guardian describes her as: Playful Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Chetti's guardian describes her ideal future home: "Chetti's ideal home would be one in which she is an only pet. She loves her people and doesn't like to share the attention with any other pets. She would benefit from a a fenced yard to run in and a family that is willing to have daily play sessions."
