About this Dog
SCRAPPY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Scrappy Best Guess for Breed: Terrier/Lab Mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of 5/4/24 Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 27 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs and kids! Not sure about cats yet, but we can find out. Currently Living At: DC area foster home Check out these videos of Scrappy: https://youtube.com/shorts/Q8dzRTjucmw, https://youtu.be/qWmnxGTubMU, https://youtu.be/dfsPo9TiRNg, https://youtu.be/F_Kbr0biKi4 and https://youtube.com/shorts/wWf15-44u44. Special Adoption Considerations: Scrappy is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Scrappy is Looking For: A loving family who can keep up with a scrappy guy like me! I'm ready to burst into your life with lots of running and playing, and cuddling once I've worn myself (and you) out! I'll probably need a little help learning some manners, but I promise to be an attentive student! Will you take me home? What My Foster Says About Me: Perfectly named, this scrappy little dude makes us laugh day and night. Estimated to be about one year old, Scrappy has enough personality to light up a room and is eager to please his pawrents. He is very playful (with a bit of puppy mischief) and learning quickly to keep his mild energy focused on his favorite toys. He is super food motivated, enjoys ear rubs on the couch, and sleeps well through the night. Scrappy would do well as the only dog in an home or with resident dogs who can match his occasional zoomies. Foster update 9/16/24: He's a really sweet cuddler. He also does this cute thing where he will boop his leash with his nose when he needs to go outside. He's great with other dogs for the most part and doing well with some commands: "sit, down, come here, let's go home" (when we're wrapping up his walk). Lastly, he does a slight little kick with his back legs when he's in deep sleep that's really precious. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Scrappy and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Scrappy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Scrappy's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Scrappy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Scrappy's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Scrappy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Scrappy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Scrappy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Scrappy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
