About this Cat
Meet Sparrow (aka Nugget), the latest in a line of Egyptian goddesses. We think she looks like a rough stone with beautiful emeralds for eyes, obsidian toe beans, a boopable onyx nose, and little sprinklings of gold dust scattered throughout her fur.She spent her first couple of months fending for herself on the streets of Burbank, and after she was placed in foster care with us, she definitely showed us how independent she had become. But over time, not only has she come around to appreciate the finer creature comforts of a home like warm blankets and perches to look down upon her devoted subjects, she has shown us that there was a very sweet kitty underneath all of that tortiutde.Sparrow is such a special girl. She is still shy, not a fan of being picked up, and can get startled by sudden movements, but once she realizes all is good, she really lets her guard down and lets you know how happy she is to be with you. She likes other cats, and enjoys playing and sleeping with them. But she enjoys her humans too. She has learned to jump on the bed and sleep close enough to one of us, where she can touch us with her paws and get some head scritches. And if we sit on the floor, she will come to us and bonk our hands, letting us know she wants some smooshy ears (slightly aggressive ear scratches/pets). And anytime we call out her nickname (Nugget) and motion with our hand for her to come, she is on her way. Sometimes she is already purring up a storm before she reaches us for pets. And have we mentioned her love of treats??!! (she is highly treat-motivated) This girl loves treats of any kind, but she will forever be your friend if you give her a churu. She absolutely LOVES churus. She knows when treat time is and will be vocal if we are moving too slow. But she will wait patiently to the side, after she has voiced her opinion and/or bonked your leg.Our little Nugget is a very sweet girl and we are sure she will be an absolute loving cat as she settles into her new home. But because of her independent side, shyness, and still learning the ropes of life indoors and with humans, we feel she would do best with a cat parent/family with patience and experience with cats like her. We donât think she would do well with young children, but older children who respected her boundaries should be ok. She does like to be around other cats, so a home with another companion would be great for her. Interestingly, she learned to copy many of their behaviors such as rubbing up against our leg for treats, and meowing during mealtimes, so a friend will help her continue to develop into an even sweeter cat. But, most importantly, she needs a family that enjoys spoiling her like the goddess she is.If our little girl matches your lifestyle, and you would like to learn more about her, please contact her foster mom, Mayra, at [email protected]. With your inquiry, please include some information about your household, experience, and other pets, as well as any questions you might have for us.

Adopt *SPARROW and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, *SPARROW's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is *SPARROW's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the *SPARROW, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming *SPARROW's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and *SPARROW was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, *SPARROW’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the *SPARROW’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, *SPARROW’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
