About this Dog
Foster notes, 7/16/24:My name is Davis, and I could tell you about my earlier life, but truth is, itâs not very happy. There is some speculation that I might have been hit by a car and/or thrown out of a car at some point. I do remember coming to Burlington Animal Services in early April with a badly injured leg. I was in there for about 2 months and my leg wasnât getting better so my foster family took me home to help me recover. After a few weeks my foster mom became concerned about my leg and took me back to the shelter vet for another evaluation. The vet concluded that my leg would have to be amputated. To make matters even worse, due to unforeseen circumstances, my foster family was not able to keep me. Right now I have some healing to do, but Iâm going to get well soon so that you can adopt me and I can be your new best friend. Do you think you have room in your home and heart for me? I promise, I will show you unconditional love and loyalty. Hereâs what my foster family had to say about me: Davis is a happy, super affectionate boy, who is eager to please. He is a great companion. Some days he would follow his foster dad out to his shop where he would be content to lie on the floor beside dadâs workbench, or hang out with foster mom in the garden to keep her company. He got along with our 13 year old dog, and the two would often hang out together. Davis is housebroken and knows basic commands; come, sit, stay, wait, bed. Walking on a leash is a work in progress. He is very good walking on a loose leash until he sees a biker or jogger. Then he gets excited and pulls, but he is easily corrected. Davis is not fond of fireworks and thunderstorms. He would pace for awhile before finally settling down close to his family. Davis loved being with his people! He began to get a little overprotective and would get uneasy when people would come in the house. He would benefit from some training to address his reactivity, but he is a fast learner and so eager to please. With training, love, and patience he will be a wonderful companion and family member.

Adopt DAVIS and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, DAVIS's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is DAVIS's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the DAVIS, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming DAVIS's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and DAVIS was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, DAVIS’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the DAVIS’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, DAVIS’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
