About this Cat
Meet Buddy, a charming and resilient black cat with a heart full of love and a story of survival. With an estimated date of birth of March 4, 2017, Buddy came to Colony Cats around his seventh birthday after being caught in our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program in Blacklick, OH. Despite his rugged appearance, Buddy is anything but feral—he’s a gentle soul looking for a loving home. Buddy’s distinctive chewed-up ears add character to his already unique look, telling tales of his adventures on the streets. He was named “Buddy” by our volunteers because of his incredibly friendly and affectionate nature—he's the kind of cat who will follow you around, always eager to be by your side. Buddy is FIV+ and FeLV-, which might sound intimidating, but with proper care, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat's immune system, similar to HIV in humans. Regular vet check-ups, a nutritious diet, and keeping Buddy indoors will help him thrive. FIV is not easily transmitted and can only be spread through deep bite wounds, so Buddy can live safely with other non-aggressive cats. Buddy has been neutered and vaccinated. He’s had some teeth removed, meaning he would do best with regular dental care and a diet of soft food. He also has a heart murmur, but these conditions don’t slow him down. Black cats often get overlooked, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case with Buddy. This mature boy was surviving but not thriving outside, so he was brought in to find a loving home. Now, he’s ready to start his search for the home of his dreams. Imagine having a loyal companion who will greet you at the door, follow you around the house, and cuddle up with you in a comfy sunbeam. Buddy is a big love bug who craves attention and affection. He’s ready to share his endless love with a family who will cherish him. Come meet Buddy during open hours at our adoption center and see for yourself why he’s the perfect addition to your family. Buddy is ready to find his forever home and fill it with love and companionship. Don’t let this wonderful cat get overlooked—Buddy is waiting to become your best friend. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! Adopt Buddy and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Buddy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Buddy's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Buddy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Buddy's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buddy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buddy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Buddy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buddy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
