About this Dog
Sasha's vet thinks she is a terrier/poodle mix, but is unsure. Sasha is 2-1/2yo, weighs 35lbs, is intact, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Sasha's guardian adds: "I love Sasha very much but I have another dog Rose which I have had for 5 years. Sasha is very playful and an alpha female and Rose has a bad acc so when they play I worry that she will continue to hurt Rose. When I first got Sasha she seemed like she was caged a lot and un familiar with water and she kept lifting her feet up like she was confused. Sasha needs to be in a one dog household. She use to be food aggressive but she is no longer that way!! But I am disabled and she needs more help than I can give her!! She is very strong and I’m hurting myself by keeping her! I want you to know that she lunged and bitme once in the beginning because she went after Rose because I didn’t give them the same treat . I saw her mind working on how she wanted to get what she wanted and I jumped in her way. She still needs help with potty training but she’s a lot better! I just can’t give her what she needs!! She is very smart and sweet!! Be careful when you are walking her a truck goes by because she will try to go after the truck to protect you!! Please give her a good home!! I have had nightmares about where she will end up! I guess that’s why I took her I didn’t want her go to someone who just wanted to breed her. My family knows that 2 dogs are too much for me but it’s been so hard worrying that she might not get a forever home with people who love her!! She loves to cuddle and so sweet! She knows sit and not always does it work. Sasha doesn't like the back yard; that's why I have to walk her. During the day, Sasha is on my bed and sleeps by me in the be at night. She's scared when she is in the car. I rub her and try to cuddle with her." Sasha's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "I wish I could keep her but she is too strong for me and she needs more training than I can give her." Lunge/Attack/Bite Incident: In 2023, in Wilmington, DE, Sasha scratched and bit her guardian; no medical treatement was sought and animal control was not involved. Sash's guardian explains: "I try to give both of the dogs the same treats so this wouldn’t happen but I lost one of the treats. I was giving the dogs a treat and Sasha ate hers and I saw her brain moving and she was going after Rose and I got in the middle. I feel really bad that I didn’t take more time finding the other one. I put some antiseptic on one area and it never happened again. No one was called." Sasha's guardian offers a brief a medical history: A cracked tooth which became infected, was surgically removed and she's has since recovered. "She has an upset stomach so I give her medicine when she has problems eating."
