About this Cat
Please visit our website at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process. Slater is about one of the most handsome fellas you will put eyes one. He has such a unique coloring around his face and nose. Slater came to us during the cold snap in January by a nice family who did not want to see him outside. Slater is a pretty reserved guy and loves to spend his days on his perch gazing out the window. Slater does take a second to warm up to human affection, but once he does, he has a loud motor boat purr box and is quite the biscuit maker. When he feels really good, he will give sweet little chirps. Slater will take a patient human to help him adjust to a new environment and go slow with the pets. He will make a great companion, and doesn't seem to mind other cats. We do need to note that Slater has tested positive for FIV (Feline Leukemia Virus) and like most carts who test positive, is living a normal and healthy life. Cats with FIV often have similar life spans to cats without it. Studies conducted in 2010 and 2022 found that an FIV diagnosis wasn't associated with decreased lifespans. In fact, cats can remain asymptomatic for years or even their entire lives! Although FIV isn't easily transmitted between cats (only through deep bites and not via sharing food and other normal interaction), the risk means that an FIV positive cat may do best going into a single-cat household or a household with other FIV positive cats. Approximate Birthday: 1/16/2022 Adoption Fee: $ 75.00 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption. Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed. Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat. Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match! Adopt Slater and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Slater's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Slater's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Slater, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Slater's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Slater was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Slater’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Slater’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Slater’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
