This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Leo, a young dog full of life and love. His sweetness is infectious, warming the hearts of everyone he meets. His gentleness is evident in his interactions, especially with big dogs. He's playful, always ready for a game of fetch or a romp in the park. Leo is not just all fun and games though, he's also smart. He's a quick learner, always ready to master new tricks. He is house trained, and crate trained where he sleeps quietly at night. He is food motivated and loves training and recently aced three rounds of Good Pup virtual training! He is now focusing on leash skills as he can become overexcited and bark at other dogs on leash. Leo has an active mind and body, and his home needs to plan for plenty of daily stimulation, exercise and enrichment but he is happy to relax on the couch after all of this has been accomplished. He loves playing in a kiddie pool which is great exercise and enrichment for him! Leo's energy is infectious, making every day a new adventure. His love for play and big dogs makes him the perfect companion for families with other dogs. He's not just a pet, he's a friend, a confidant, a source of unconditional love. Adopt Leo, and let his sweetness, friendliness, and energy fill your home with joy. Medical Note: This dog has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption and shows no bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
